We advocate for equal access and opportunity for all in the pursuit of careers in STEM fields. Jobs in STEM fields are increasing at a fast rate and the demand for skilled personnel will increase over 30% in the next ten years. We are dedicated to diversifying the next generation of

STEM Leaders and Innovators.

A 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization

We provide opportunities for participants to engage in recreational, competitive, and

educational programs that promote interest in STEM Fields and Career Technical Education. We create STEM empowerment and personal development programs that encourage creativity. Our goal is to sponsor, host and/or participate in community arts events that promote personal wellness, youth empowerment, academic stamina, and interest in STEM fields through Expressive Arts and exposure to innovation and new technologies.

Our programming is curated for audiences of all ages, we're here to service students, educators, and parents. Our ideal partnerships will lead to increased exposure, learning, and college/career readiness for urban and marginalized youth in STEM.

Executive Director 

Elizabeth O'Raffity

Elizabeth has had over 36 years of experience in Science Education and the Arts as a teacher and administrator working in the NYC Department of Education. Since retirement in 2017, founding the organization and generating engagement in STEM has been her passion. She hopes to empower youth through culturally engaging experiences in STEAM to develop affinity for STEM fields and careers.

Yvonne Turner

Yvonne Turner is an Innovative Educator. Working with teachers and administrators she brings a unique approach to learning, engaging students and teaching them to become lifelong learners. It is a wonderful opportunity to join the board of The Growing STEMz Foundation which is dedicated to empowering the students of Dutchess County through STEM Enrichment.

Vice President 

Poet Gold

Living with a chronic illness since childhood, Poet Gold, or as she is affectionately known as, “Gold,” brings a soul-searching insight into human existence, love, dreams, challenges, and triumph. As a teaching artist, Poet Gold supports STEAM education. She has worked with at-risk youth (Youth with Promise) and has served organizations who utilize the arts to confront issues from gun violence and climate change in their communities to social and environmental justice.

Program Director 

Robert Natal

Robert has worked in education since 1981 as an Administrator, Researcher,

Professor/Instructor, Dean, Counselor, Grants Writer, Recruiter and Tutor at NYU,

Hunter College, Touro College and Lehman College as well as Public Education in the NYC/DOE and Non-Profit funded programs. Working with gifted and talented, as well as the academically challenged, he has used his bilingual skills (English/Spanish) to work with students at all levels. As a founding member of the Foundation he continues to promote self empowerment.
